Jean Tarbox, a writing specialist with over twenty years’ experience, excels in resolving writing problems for public and private school students in the Puget Sound region. She has created and directed school-wide writing and publishing projects. Today Jean primarily offers private writing tutorials as well as workshops in expository writing, academic methodology, and education in-service.
Jean has worked as a freelance writer and taught after-school writing classes through Powerful Schools, a Seattle non-profit dedicated to helping all children succeed in school. Her professional writing career began when she joined the film department of the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Graduate studies in modern Irish history at University College Dublin further deepened her lifelong interest in history and literature. The confluence in Ireland of politics, literature, art, and psychology enriched her thinking and continues to influence her work with students today.
